Christmas 2003

This is a time of reflection and thinking back over this year of 2003. Time is going by faster than it used to. Now we know that is not true, but it seems the pace has increased. We send love and greeting to you that pray for us, give financially to keep the many outreaches going forward and those of you that we call friends. What a gift from God is friendship… where would we be without each other. Our nation is at a time of war and on the horizon are uncertain times. This sounds like the same world that Jesus came to over 2000 years ago when the angels sang, “Joy to the World the Lord has come”. Our focus is on this same Jesus and His promises that keep us moving ahead and looking up for His second coming and we want to be found faithful.

We give God the glory for being able to work in the harvest fields in 2003. FAMILY FESTIVALS in Orlando and Tampa Florida Fairgrounds saw many tears of repentance at the altars. This is a ministry that reaches out to the Spanish-speaking people. ANOTHER CONTAINER to Romania filled with needed supplies, not only for Casa Shalom, but everything needed to plant the new church in Campina was on board. This is such a team effort as people prayed and gave and worked physically in the hot weather to pack the 40 foot container to cross the seas. Everything on board to plant the new church from a complete sound system to a brand new set of Yamaha drums to chairs to even a pulpit and choir robes!! It arrived on Sept 5 and the RIVER OF LIFE TEAM arrived on Sept 9. A dedicated TEAM of 25 from ages 8-81 worked together as one for the one purpose of winning souls. The city of Campina has a population of 40,000 and had no vibrant witness of Jesus. The culture house was rented for this outreach and 251 souls signed cards to say they had received Christ as Saviour. We visited schools, orphanages, hospitals and clinics and even a woman’s tea reached out to let the city know that we had come with a message of hope. LOVE IN ACTION a home missions outreach to the Spanish speaking people in our own country was held last December and blessed many that again this year we will give food, children’s clothes, toys and warm clothing in the name of the ONE we celebrate. He came that WE might have life!

RIVER OF LIFE MINISTRY CONTINUES: Last year our desire was to help Ovi and Alex Mare to plant a River of Life Church in Campina. By God’s help this has been done and the work goes on. A rented building is used each Sunday and a congregation is being established. Each month support is needed . This is your opportunity to invest in lives on the other side of the world. We need help. Not only is there a church but also a DAY CENTER that pours hope into the lives of children. They are from broken homes and are taught the ‘word’ and then go back into the community to impact the area for Christ. A VAN is needed for this ministry. Pray with us for a miracle and give to put wheels under this anointed young Romanian couple.

OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES

Many of you pray for Cindy our youngest daughter. She is a walking miracle and thanks you for your prayers. She no longer relies on the tube feeding and for one year now she has trusted the Lord without it. She has more strength that a lot of people that can eat normally. She eats what she can and believes the Lord to give her what she needs to serve him with her talents.

I was sitting on the couch with 4 year old granddaughter, Emmie, during the 1992 Gulf War. We watched CNN and as the bombs were dropping she asked what that was. I responded that this is called war and it is when people hate one another and that was just the reason that Jesus was coming to take us to heaven. With bright eyes and a wise look she said, “Mums, we better pack!!!! Let us remind ourselves that Jesus told us He is coming for those that are looking for Him.

We know the foundation of this ministry is prayer. We have the Prayer Alert which is an e-mail ministry that keeps our prayer team alerted to the needs of our ministry as well as other pressing needs. We say a BIG THANK YOU for all you have done in 2003. We have a desire to send another container to Romania. This time it will be a MEDICAL CONTAINER to meet some of the needs of the city of Campina. We visited the hospital and they do not even have the basic needs to take care of the population of 40,000. Our animal hospitals in this country are much better!! We took medicines and the doctor was excited over Tylenol?? This is our opportunity to impact the city with a show of love. We have promised to be the support for the new church until it is established. ANOTHER TEAM TO ROMANIA is forming for Sept 2004. Contact us if you feel to be part of this mission outreach. A call has come from Mexico to conduct another Bullring Crusade and we are praying about this opportunity. A Family Festival among the migrant workers in Florida is being planned. We continue to go as we have good health and the Lord supplies the financial needs through His people. I love God’s plan for the ones that give and the ones that go are ONE and both share the same rewards. We keep focused on souls and making a difference in people’s lives.
