2005 Romania Report
ER Hospital Room Completed What a joy for us to see in reality what we knew could happen when people care. We remember our first walk into the hospital and seeing the emergency room area that had mold on the walls and broken down chairs in the waiting room. All the equipment worn out, old and working with tape trying to hold it together. It was a dark dreary place, Today it has been transformed!!! We were so happy to be able to see it. One of the head doctors, Dr. Gabriela Grozra, told us "come and see what your money has done!" Our funds were the beginning and the Mayor of the city joined with us on this big project. Now the darkness is replaced with beautiful blue and white tiles on the walls and the new lights to make the place totally transformed. Oh what love can do!!!!!!
Village Church of Moara Noua The hearts of the team were swing wide open
as our vans pulled into the village of Moara Noua. The cows were on the
roads and gypsy wagons passed us as we arrived at the humble little church.
The church benches were all ready moved to the outside as they knew more space
was needed. The children's choir sang as other children climbed trees to
get a better look. We had given money last year to help with putting in a
bathroom for the people and we were pleased to see it is being done. New
lights had been installed and a paint job for the building. We have
pledged to support Pastor with $200 a month as he goes to four congregations and
even works with a deaf congregation, too. The people here are so loving
and humble and love so deeply. Our teams love to come to this place.
THE YOUTH OF CAMPINA Pictures speak louder than words someone so wisely said. The clowns' messages acted out reached hearts. The skit on "no one can serve two masters" was so well done and the message rang out clear. The presentation of the salvation bracelet, that we call our love bracelet, (for it tells the greatest love story of all time) was received so well in all the many places the door was open for us to go.
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN We were so blessed to go to 'forgotten and
passed by' children's homes. The beanie babies were a big surprise to
many. One worker told us..."of course they have behavior problems for how
would you feel if no one ever came to visit you, sent you a card, or ever called
you. The only way some of them get attention is to be bad. What a
joy to put smiles on their faces, if only for a moment!
RIVER OF LIFE DAY CENTER The road to the mission house is almost
completely washed out. The constant rains that have come to Romania has
done much damage to the country. Our area of Campina has been spared the
horrible devastation of other areas, but the roads show great stress upon them.
We were able to go to the youth center and meet
MINISTRY AT CASA SHALOM A visit to Casa Shalom is always an uplifitng
experience. Founder and Driector, Becky Dan Walsh, has labored hard to
bring literally, out of the mud, a place that speaks loud to the faithfulness of
God. If you are ever in the need of hugs we know where they are in
abundance. Our first days of ministry in Romanis was working out of Casa
Shalom as well as loving the children that live there. We were able to
present to the new church a Praise Banner that shows the foundation of our
faith, the WORD OF GOD, which is the "sword of the spirit!" From a poor
village, close by, many people are coming to hear about Jesus. The vans
from Casa Shalom make several trips to bring the people into the multi-purpose
bilding. We were able to rent a bus and sent it to the village.
Our team ha pledged to do this ($100 each week). This investment will
bring heavenly dividends! Our time was well spent with the children, from
music lessons, to hair cuts to even showing some new soccer moves, but most of
all the times of spiritusl input into the people and just loving them.
FORGOTTEN AND PASSED BY PEOPLE One of the most unforgettable experiences was
our visit to an Elderly Home in the upstairs of a home for abandoned babies.
Again this team brought hugs and touching and love and kindness and most of all
joy to the entire place. There are no words to even begin to tell the
story. One lady there in the same bed for 8 years, abandoned by her
husband and she had no children. Our violin began to play music and we saw
eyes mist over with tears as a past memory was resurrected.
