2006 Mission To
Romania |
|
TEAM 2006
A special group of people have
just completed another mission to Romania. This was a wonderful
time to celebrate the faithfulness of God and to see the progress of
Casa Shalom, the children's home in Bucharest, Romania. We honored
the founder and direction, Becky Walsh. She has served 25 years in
Eastern Europe and 10 years at Casa Shalom. We were able to go
again to the 'forgotten and passed by people' at the institution for the
elderly. This is always a moving experience for all those that
take part in showering love upon them. We visited the home for
street girls and shared the message of hope as well as give small gifts
that bring smiles. The big bus loaded up with many from the
different countries and all the musical talent we had as well as the
clowns and we drove into the country to a village that had NEVER had an
evangelistic outreach. As the big bus driver worked hard to
maneuver the narrow roads and the view of the humble dwellings was
becoming visible, the thought came to me so very strong, the only place
of equality is at the foot of the cross. Jesus said, "whosoever
may come." If you live in the million dollar mansions, or you live
in this poor village, we become equal at the CROSS! |

Another sad place
is the home for street girls. Many of them are mentally challenged
and have been so abused and misused. Thank god for people that
care to give them a safe place where their physical needs are met.
Please pray with us for the Sue Bates home for girls. |
| Miracle is the only word we can use
to describe the story of two containers now sitting at Casa Shalom in
Romania. The three story building being built there needed
furniture and we got a call from a man that had a warehouse full and was
willing to GIVE it for ministry. Not only for the new house that
will bless so many children but there were so many other things sent on
the containers that will help so many. To list a few things;
chairs, couches, tables, towels, dishes, pans, and even mirrors and
artificial trees to make the place beautiful, too. We were able to
send a new refrigerator, freezer and stove because of generous
supporters and many wonderful coats and sweaters as the cold wind is
approaching! Two containers filled with supplies and even a weed
whacker and bug killer machines to help with the fly problem! A
God of MIRACLES we serve! |

CELEBRATION AT CASA SHALOM |
|

Becky Walsh with David
and Kathy Walker |
It is all about the children and
the faithfulness of God that we were able to enjoy three days of
celebration at Casa Shalom, Bucharest, Romania. Even the Mayor of
Sector 6 of the city came, as well as the director of the Child
Protection Agency. People from Germany, England, New Zealand, and
the USA came to give God praise! The sounds of children's laughter
could be heard as balloons were released in the heavens, sounds of
singing of many of the old songs of the church, sounds of guitars,
accordions, violins and even the sound of the crackling of a bonfire was
some of the happy sounds as Casa Shalom. It was a time of
rejoicing. Now we hear the sounds of building as the new House of
Joy is being finished so many more children will be blessed. |

| Help is needed to finish the
building. $18,000 to complete the outside! WE need sponsors
to help with the support of the children living at Casa Shalom.
$50 a month! It is a team of people, that care, to keep Casa
Shalom a "House of Peace." |

FAVOR OF GOD IN
CAMPINA |
| Our days in Campina were marked by
favor from the Lord as we saw doors open for continued ministry in that
city. Kathy even spoke to a large high school on the opening day
of school. A wonderful meeting with the director of the hospital
in preparation for the Dental Team arriving in Romania on October 20.
We had an audience with the Mayor of the city who promised us a
reception for that team. We were able to invest in a new church to
help them make their place larger and even had dinner with a Prophet who
had come through Communism and was put in prison and beaten because of
this stand for Jesus Christ. |

Village Church of
Moara Noua |

This is one of the villages that Brother Marin
and the little red car carries out the work of Christ! He is so
full of gratitude and wants everyone to know he prays for you. the
children had worked hard to sing for us in English. one lady that
came to the service sat near the front and got out attention as she
looked so 'classic' and you could tell she had worked so hard in her
lifetime. She asked us to pray for her ears as they did not hear
so well and she put her head on my shoulder and I just loved her and she
loved me back! Little did we know that less that two days she
would be in heaven after being hit and killed by a train. We would
be sad, but we got a mental picture of her laying her head on the
shoulder of Jesus and we know now that she can hear perfectly! I
imagine our Lord is saying to her, "take your rest." |
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
Sunday was a busy day as we
ministered at GRACE CHURCH at the location of the Assembly of
God Bible School. We went to the INTERNATIONAL CHURCH
and met Pastor Christi (our translator when we preached at the
Orthodox church several years ago). We had church with the
village people at Casa Shalom. Becky filled her van!

THERE ARE MANY FINANCIAL NEEDS AS WE CONTINUE
TO GO FORWARD. IN NOVEMBER, WE WILL BE IN A LARGE ARENA IN THE
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. FUNDS ARE NEEDED TO MEET THE EXPENSES OF
TRAVEL. WE CONTINUE TO GIVE TO ROMANIA. THE HOSPITAL IN
CAMPINA NEEDS A WAY TO HEAR THE LABOR ROOM AS THERE IS NO HEAT AT
ALL IN THAT AREA OF THE HOSPITAL. For $1,000 we can meet this
need!
Casa Shalom not only needs to finish the new building but needs
monthly sponsors as one of the large donors has decided to stop his
support and move to another country of need. It is a team that
gets the job done and we all know that God gets all the glory.
This is HIS WORK. We know He loves the children. Can you
help?????????????????????
